'Chautauqua Books,' a Cable Access TV sho was formed in 1998 in conjunction with Channel 5, Chautauqua County (Mayville, NY).
With Chautauqua Institution nearby, and the Jackson Center in Jamestown, and with a college (Jamestown Community) and several universities (Fredonia, St. Bonaventure and nearby Pennsylvania's many colleges, Chautauqua seemed a good place to find writers, thinkers, activists. So it was, pretty much - then Bush was installed and 9/11 happened under Bush's purported watch. The Bush admin. investigated itself and found itself blameless. In virtual lock-step with the nation's media, all of the Chautauqua area political, educational, media and cultural institutions accepted the new collective cognitive imperative, the 'war on terrorism' and the 'clash of civilizations' with Arabs, foremost, the enemy.
For example, in 2007 Chautauqua Institution brought in Philip Zelikow, key neo-con & Bush insider, Bilderger and the very man who was in charge of the 9/11 cover-up, to be a keynote speaker. Zelikow's main message was how rotten Arabs are.
